Monday Van Gogo and such

First day out and about alone. Left the flat  (catch that it is a :flat")  haha, checked the map before I left, because of course I can not look like a tourist.  Made my way to an open air market where I had some insider information on a WWII stall, sadly nothing there today because today is a Dutch holiday. Grabbed a coffee and walked to the Van Gogh Museum.  Even with a pass I waited about 45 minutes. I decided to splurge on a audio tour 5 euros - worth it.  It has three floors of the breathtaking paintings we see in books.  I had forgotten all the other art there: Pissaro, Gauguin, Monet and Manet too.  I have been reading a book of letters of Joanne Van Gogh (Theo's wife, thanks Kathy) it was great to see and hear many of what I am reading in the book.   I hit three book stores on the way back to the flat, picked up some cheese and bread at the cheese shop on the corner and now I am settled into a chair doing a little writing and reading with the windows wide open listening to the sounds of the neighborhood and the steady rain. Will post photos tonight after dinner.
